"At the Back of the North Wind" by George MacDonald is a children's fantasy book serialized beginning in 1868 and published in 1871. It follows a sweet boy named Diamond who befriends the mysterious Lady North Wind, a goddess-like being. Together they fly through the nights on magical adventures that help Diamond understand her true nature.
