"Prince Prigio" by Andrew Lang is a literary fairy tale written in 1889. In the kingdom of Pantouflia, a prince cursed to be "too clever" dismisses magic and fairy tales as nonsense—until his brothers vanish while hunting a fearsome firedrake. Left alone in an abandoned castle, Prigio discovers a room full of forgotten magical gifts from his christening. Now he must choose: continue his skeptical ways or embrace the enchanted world he once mocked to save his kingdom and win the heart of Lady Rosalind.
